Venice, Italy – OPPLE Lighting, a leading global provider of innovative lighting solutions, is proud to announce its participation in the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, where it plays a key role in the design and illumination of the Chinese Pavilion.
In collaboration with world-renowned architect Ma Yansong, Founding Partner of MAD Architects, OPPLE developed a unique lighting installation that seamlessly blends tradition with technology.

In the outdoor area of the pavilion, a striking Umbrella structure made of oil paper, a material rich in cultural significance, takes center stage. This traditional form is reimagined as a symbol of harmony between architecture and ecology, embodying MAD Architects’ vision for a future where outdoor spaces are shaped not only by technical microclimatic solutions but also by aesthetic and conceptual breakthroughs in response to global climate challenges.
The installation is illuminated from within by OPPLE’s advanced Software Defined Lighting (SDL) Skylight, which creates a vivid, color-rich visual experience that unites architectural storytelling with the power of smart lighting innovation.
OPPLE also provided the general lighting for the entire Chinese Pavilion, ensuring an immersive and well-balanced environment that enhances the visitor experience while meeting the highest standards of sustainability and design.
